Making Bygone Summer Last: Photo Essay One - Charlevoix

Greetings once again to all of you who would stand as able-bodied Gauntletarians, it's been quite some time since I posted here, so I thought I'd ease back into the blogging scene with some nice, laid back seasonal pics.

These photos were taken this past June around the lake in Charlevoix, Michigan, which as the name implies; was an early French settlement prior to Michigan gaining US statehood.

If I'm correct the town lays at the confluence of Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix, which only make sense when you realize just how many lakes absolutely dot the state of Michigan. Not surprising I guess when you realize that the entire area was completely underwater after the last Ice Age.

Today Charlevoix is a quaint beach get-away resort town, similar to any of the Hamptons on the East End of Long Island. Cottages sit nestled along the shoreline and the town itself is chock full of little mom-and-pop shops that have no shortage of curios available for the tourists.

Anyway enjoy, and stay tuned for some more "stuff" coming soon.

Till next time.
